Money Maverick Limited is NOT a Licensed Financial Advice Provider issued by the FMA to provide financial advice services. We do not provide regulated financial advice as defined by the FMA.

 

While our Financial Consultants are Licensed Financial Service Providers under the FMA and can be found on the Financial Service Providers Register, they are unable to give regulated financial advice while operating under Money Maverick Limited.

Nature and Scope of financial advice services our services

We can provide financial education, information, and guidance, on a wide variety of topics as defined on our Services page on our website.

We cannot provide regulated financial advice.

Our fees

If you are able to secure funding from one of our providers, you will never be charged a fee. This includes, but not limited to:

  • TELUS Health

  • Vitae

  • UofA Students

  • Xero Customers (through TELUS Health)

Should you be unable to secure funding from the above avenues, we charge no more than $150/hr for our sessions. We are open to negotiating a lower rate at our discretion. 

 

Commissions  

We will never receive a commission from any product that we discuss. We do not receive a referral commission for any provider that we recommend. We do not receive any income other than that disclosed in the fee section above.

 

 

Conflicts of interest or other incentives 

Money Maverick's Consultants are practicing their services outside of Money Maverick. This includes roles where they receive a commission for their service. 

All Consultants undergo annual training on how to manage any conflicts of interest.

All Money Maverick Limited Financial Consultants ensure that they prioritise your interests by considering your circumstances and goals.

How we manage any conflicts of interest

To ensure our advisors prioritise our clients’ interests:

  • Our meetings are recorded to ensure that clients are not being 'sold to'.

  • Money Maverick Limited has a strict "no poaching" policy whereas Consultants are unable to try and generate leads from your consultation to their other business. For example, if you needed help with KiwiSaver, a Consultant who is trained to advise on KiwiSaver cannot try to get your business in their other company.

  • We undertake an annual independent Compliance Assurance Review. 

 

Our duties and obligations to you

  • Meet the standards of competence, knowledge and skill set out in the Code of Conduct

  • Give priority to the clients’ interest and

  • Exercise care, diligence and skill and

  • Meet the standards of ethical behaviour, conduct, and client care set out in the Code of Conduct.

 

Our Internal complaints process

If you have a problem, concern or complaint about any part of our advice or service, please tell us so that we can try to fix the problem.  

Our internal complaints handing process is as follows:

  1. Acknowledge your complaint with your Consultant

  2. If you are not able to resolve your complaint by step 1 with your Consultant, email scott@moneymaverick.nz and our Complaints Manager will contact you within 2 business days. We may need further information about your complaint, our aim is to resolve the complaint within 10 working days but will contact you if we require more time to consider the complaint.
